This morning temperature was -31 C with the windchill and my Dewalt 20V cordless drill only allowed me for 3 holes. Maybe it was too cold.
Please advise me which drill model can stand this crazy cold weather and approximately how many holes can drill?
Also how much for this drill with 2 battery?

电池是多少A的？你的情况应该就是电池冻得太厉害了。这些工具里面用的锂电池有区别，但好的都能在-20度工作。所以在正式开始用之前，把电池保温不要过早受冻还是有必要的，尤其这么冷的天。

FYI - 周六一早-21度的时候，用MILWAUKEE M18 4.0A电池，完全正常，打了6“的洞10来个（1尺冰），电池一直暴露在外面，最后只用掉1格电，还剩3格

what kind of drill...? Dewalt makes some 20v compact drill, not suitable for this application.

Mine is dewalt DCD996 with 5ah battery, Saturday -20 air temp I drilled 30 holes still on full battery (3 out of 3). ice was about 8" total, auger is 6" fin bore. Battery was left outside all day, it was even left in my truck the night before fishing.

俺前年也是这样，最多仨洞。。换了刀，然后就嗖嗖的了~

另外，俺就用的 compact drill，没觉着啥大问题吖~

你用这个打洞，真的很快要换刀片啊。。。。 不能用IMPACT DRIVE啊。。。

impact driver =/= hammer drill

Hammer drill has the axial hammering action in effect as long as the concrete drill bit is drilling in preparation for concrete anchoring..so hammer drill is a no no for ice cutting for sure

Impact Wrench/Driver only has the circumferential hammering action in effect to further tighten the screw ,to the pre-set torque setting, when the screw has reached the dead end on the work piece....so it can be used for ice augering with the torque setting set higher than the usual torque the auger would encounter during normal cuttings....风雨 knows :) of course a special adaptor is in order

So for those who had bought the compact drill/impact driver combo, don't dump your impact, cos someone can make good use of it

impact 跟 hammer 不同, impact 要遇到一定阻力先有所謂hammer 作用, 例如上螺絲到盡头時, 那个setting 可以调甚至可以花点功夫disable hammer action.....風雨不正用着沒事嗎? 坐等他耒解畫吧

Hammer Drill啲震動是軸向啲, 尤如把鑽鋤向冰面會傷害刀片
Impact Drive啲震動是圓週向啲, 跟刀片啲原切削方向沒有抵觸

俺只是个吹的, 有你5,6年成功使用的宝贵经验佐証, 你老更該进一步解畫呀 :)
例如...torque 的setting 如何, 有否拆开钻作内卩调較, show show 你的adaptor 吧, 大概是用六角匙铁通铁烧焊而成的? impact driver 的索头chuck 跟hand drill 那可調較鬆緊的不同, adaptor 有另加防跌吧?

介个，还真的有意思，下次上螺丝的时候好好再感受一下什么时候那个impact开始工作。我印象中一开始就拍拍拍的


另外，能给个图看看adapter怎么做？估计要DIY吧
