just thought the bent handle type could provide better bites.... you use a pr or what
im considering one.... would prolly add a rope type 1-step ladder to it's end eye

im also thinking of tying a pc of rope one end to the boot, the other to the ice axe, and pack the axe to the outside of the leg for instant 1-handed operation..
