Just in case if you are not aware of general river fishing etiquettes.
Below are some basics for any newbies to earn respects from others.
1) Be Courteous & Polite
- Always say Hi or strike some conversations with fella fishermen
2) Respect an Angler's Space
- minimum distance between anglers you do not know well: AT LEAST 8~10 feet
** for ease of casting
** safety
** respect
3) DONT crowd in
- DONT try to squeeze into pools which are packed already
- Keep walking down the river to find unoccupied pools
- Come earlier next time if you really want good spots
4) DONT Jump into Another Person's Spot
- Ask for permission if someone is about to leave or not before jumping in!
- Come earlier next time if you really want good spots
5) DONT Litter & Bring garbage home
6) Give Others Space When Fighting A Fish
- Pull out your line immediately when people call for "Fish on" unless you are 50 feet away from him/her
7) Walk/Talk Quietly Around Others
8) DONT STAND TOO CLOSE TO POOLS
- You will NOT catch fish by standing close to them!
- Practice your casts so that you do not have to stand right beside fish to catch them
- Fish will be spooked as soon as you can see them!
9) Cast in sequence with others to avoid tangles
- Wait for your turn to cast!
- Keep your float at least 4 feet from others
- Learn how to cast accurately!
10) Relax & enjoy the experience!
