WF/LT fishing - a few tips

1) Bring a garbage bag to keep your catch...
Dont leave the fish visible on ice too long or you'll soon be surrounded by loosers punching holes 10' from you. I once had a guy running his pickup almost over the WF I left 6' from my hole....he even had the nerve to ask "how's fishing?"...that's rude
2) Bring a pair of long-nose pliers..
Dont use bare hand to unhook fish, especially when lure used has multi-hooks. WF has small head/slimey body which are hard to grab firm...
3) Bring a gaff for pulling fish out of the hole...
I use two, the long one is for handling fish stuck under thick ice....
the short one is for hooking fish shoulder after the fish is brought up with head/shoulder just above water. Gaffs in 2-sections are available at tackle shops, except their length is not to my liking
4) Last not least...
When trying to help landing a fish, dont head down the hole cos that's likely the time the fish would spit the lure to you....always steer away from the possible orbit of the lure should it fly.

Now go get them !
