I've heard about the cylindrical type baitcasting reels are commonly used by some of the west coast river fishermen.
Anyone tried? Tell us your thoughts?
Just thought some bass fishermen may start with their baitcaster before they are commited to fishing the rivers.
I certainly have no bias on those adorable float reels...they are definitely showing the competency of their owners in float fishing

是的，你可以使用baitcasting reel来钓虹鳟鱼，据说在西海岸大家都使用大号的上手轮来钓，很少有人用centerpin。我自己有时候也用Shimano core Mg7来钓，我用的是10.6尺的钓竿，我自己的做法是这样的：我用很细的power pro 10磅编织线做主线，另加7-8尺的六磅碳素线，用来拴漂和做脑线。浮漂钓得时候，你需要把casting control调的很松，可以让漂顺着水流飘走为好，按下按钮放线，用手来控制出线的速度。

相信你說的卸力是指線軸尾那casting control,不是drag吧
一般上手輪的線軸都較float reel的小得多, 用mono線記憶較强, 相信會影响出線, braided 是較佳出路....

辣椒大师客气，我指的就是casting control，10磅的power pro 就很好用了。很细很细。其实有个视频是 Canada sport fishing的Italo做的，就是讲怎样用baitcasting来钓浮漂，可是我怎么也找不着了，麻烦大师自己搜一下吧。

你说的柱状轮我见过有人在河里用。钓法和Fly Fishing很像，一般打到稍急的水流中。lure不是fly而是小金属硬饵很像小minow。杆子很长也有13尺左右。以前还专门和那人聊过这种钓法。枫叶应该对此比较熟悉。

Some newer baitcasting/level-wind reels are featured with the synchronized line-guide (non-disengaged) which moves left-right with the line, line in and line out...this provides smoother drifting, theoretically

我只是在视频里见过。呵呵

Abu Garcia C3, C4 (round), Revo Toro (low profile) have the synchronized levelwind feature
.....Core does not

Shimano (round) Cardiff 400, Calcutta....
